Sometimes (or many times) you get an assignment that doesn't lend itself to much creative freedom. In this case, Mentos asked us to put a new end card on an European commercial that had been successful overseas. The spot involved a spider that beat the crap out of a guy. We came back with an end card treatment that included a CTA to download an app where the user could take on the spider in a one-on-one fight. Amazingly, the client loved it and Spider Swiper was born. Working with Tool of North America and legendary game developer Graeme Devine, we crafted a multiple stage fighting game with a series of increasingly difficult, super strong spiders. The app was downloaded over 2 million times for iPhone and iPad and had an average of 2 minutes per session time.
